Huff puff...okay let me attempt to gracefully land on the ground, take my supergirl cape off for a minute here to be honest and say,
I can't keep up anymore!
With frequent posting on this blog, that is. I have so many ideas and so much inspiration for posts, that for awhile there I just wanted to get them all out asap.
The problem is, my life sneaked up and totally got in the way of blogging! My husband, my children, my friends, my house, my little quirky fitness habits, my gardening dream, my urgent need to be outside as much as possible, my piano gigs, my dogs, my LAUNDRY...can you believe the nerve of my life to intrude on my blogging like that!
I did some serious thinking over the weekend, friends... and I came to the conclusion, that I really think I could do it all, if a day consisted of 40 hours instead of 24. I really do believe I could!
But lets talk reality here. My reality, anyway. I like to write rambling, in-depth, long, informational posts. But they do take me awhile to plan and write, and I just wasn't finding enough time in a day to do everything I wanted to, and blog too. And here is the result:
Let me take a minute to share here what my favorite thing about blogging has been so far. Sure - it's been fun to share and express my thoughts in a creative way. But mostly, what I've gotten most out of blogging, has been my conversations with all of you.
Conversation in the comments section, conversations on email, on your blogs, and on various other forums - they have all been enriching, growing experiences for me and I have learned more from YOUR thoughts and YOUR experiences than you would imagine.
I have loved writing back, and answering every comment and email that comes my way. I haved loved discovering new blogs and reading about your lives. It makes blogging what blogging is for me. It would be so very boring if I was writing just to hear myself speak.
(This means, if you lurk, please consider delurking, at least occasionally! I'd love to hear from you.)
But when I am posting often, I simply don't have time to be as personal as I would like to be. So I'm hoping that by posting less often, I will be able to have more conversations with all of you. Yes - this means if you wrote me an email, you should be hearing back from me soon.
And hopefully fewer posts will mean higher quality too - but one never knows with me. :D
So please bear with me as I attempt to transition gracefully to a less hectic posting schedule. I haven't decided firmly what that will look like yet, except that it won't be 4-5 times a week. At least not before my kids grow up and leave me. Wahhh! And, my 7 yr olds just told me last week that they want to live with me forever, so THAT may just never happen.
I hope that you will all be patient and stick with me! I promise I'm still here even if I'm knee deep in piles of clothes, and I'll be sure to wave when I get to the top of my laundry mountain!
If you have enjoyed my blog, first of all - thank you, and second of all, please consider subscribing via email or RSS (links on my sidebar) so you do get an update whenever I post!
Have a happy Monday, everyone. :-)

hhaha jk :)
I'll be waiting for new posts :)you rock
I totally understand how life just seems to creep up and get in the way of blogging. It's been busy here with a garden, summer activities, and I started school with my children this past Monday.
I'll miss your regular posting, but I don't want you to miss out on your life. Catch up on the laundry and know that I'll be back as soon as your next installment is released here at GoingBananas :o)
gurl, NO WORRIES!
gosh, i started attempting to blog on my fashion site, and it was just too much! so, i commend you. Not to mention,i did not have much to blog about...unlike you! you are A POWERHOUSE of information and inspiration. Reading your posts is what is helping me slowly, but surely move forward in my 811 lifestyle. I am grateful to you!
so, any post is a good post.
and, hey, LIFE HAPPENS. live it. enjoy it. one day at a time.
you are staying true to yourself and that's wonderful!
i'll still be here reading your great blog posts..whether they are many or few. ^_____^
Oh shoot. Well I can't say that I'm not saddened by your decision, for purely selfish reasons on my part. However, I totally understand the need for a life away from the computer. I'll continue to look forward to reading your posts.
He-he, that little orange square keeps tabs on you just fine for me, won't let any ramblings(in a good way) go by unnoticed, no matter how long you take in between :O)

Good to follow you on your transition to health. You're a unique voice in the world of Hygiene.
To do what you have done was super, epic. Thanks for spreading the word so uniquely with such flavor.
Enjoy the laundry.
Justin
Humph! I send all my readers personally made and designed cards from paper I have made from recycled paper collected from the roadside. In addition, I then respond with at least 2 pages of thoughtful and insightful material which may be useful. Occasionally, I send out a free laptop to really good commentors. I'm sorry girl, but that's no way to be popular...lol Actually, you rule, love your blog, and whatever you do is awesome.
Take care,
Sam
Sarah, all of us with children in the home know exactly what you are coping with. I will gladly catch up with you whenever you find time to share. Do what you have to do.
Sam, I appreciate all the notes on pretty paper but am waiting for my laptop! :)
Hugs!
Connie
I always marvel at how quickly a commitment can gather a momentum all its own, attracting all manner of activity, to a point where your attention is pulled in so many directions at once, you begin to wonder whether you're going to have a meltdown of sorts. Totally understand the need for pullback, especially in light of the fact that you've given us so much of yourself, Sarah. Wonderful, wonderful stuff, and all of it accessible now (and in future) by those new to the 811rv game. If you wish to keep the commitment to blog, albeit at a reduced rate, I would suggest a regular, fixed time, say, at least once a week at the same time, at least until things slow down a little (it is summer, after all), and then, in future, as summer fades away, and if you felt like increasing your rate of blogging, you could do that, too. Does it sound like I'm trying to keep you going here, Sarah? No, not at all. All of this is merely suggestive. If ya wanna be wild and carefree, I'd support that too. And hey, Sarah, you thought you could ramble; well, get a load of this comment ;)
Glad you like my "new" moniker. Not as unique as my other ones, but a little more real, I should think. Love ya, babe :)
I know exactly what you mean. I can sit down to blog, take two hours writing an article and two hours looking at other blogs or getting sidetracked by websites while searching for information.
It is apparent that you put a lot of effort into writing your articles. And you have a family to look after, too!
Don't feel bad about posting less. We aren't going anywhere.
Okay. i am one of the 'lurkers'. I get a lot out of your posts so thanks for that. I am slowly starting out on the raw food life-i feel better already (only been about 2 weeks)! I still cook for 6 other lovely people-they dont want to do it just yet, but am introducing more vege at the table for them...Thanks and i will keep reading...
No worries Sarah. Take it easy, enjoy some sun.
Hey Sarah,
I has been a treat to read ya everyday! But, well you know me, I totally understand.
I'm just so so so so thankful to have you in my life in this way.
All I can say is 'ditto' to what everyone else has said! ;)
Thanks for all the info, research and also 'fun times'!
(((Hugs)))
Terry in the Keys
I've been reading your blog for awhile now and I love all of the information I can find! Not only that but you crack me up time after time. I was wondering when this day would come. Have fun with your, not "free" but different use of time and I'll be looking forward to when you are able to post.
- Stephanie
Doesn't matter how often you want to blog, I'll be here to read it, girlfriend! :)
Hi Sarah,
Totally understandable. Life first, blog second.
It's been a lot of fun for us, but YOU were the one doing all the work!
I'm going to reread all your old posts again. (There's gold in them there posts!)
Take care, and we'll see you when time allows.
Sarah, I love this post so much that I stumbled it. What a refreshing, honest look on blogging!
I post three times per week, and at times I feel that twice a week would work better. I started out with 5/week and quickly realized that there's no way I could post so frequently and still do everything else that I love - or need - to do.
Of course I am sticking around. I am subscribed, so when you post I'll know right away that there's a new post.
Sarah,
This makes me sad and happy all at once. Sad - because your blog has been a daily mine of information and inspiration since I first dived into 811 a few months ago (not to mention the side-splitting entertainment!). But happy to know you have such a rich, full life, and also the sense to put it first.
I'll be even happier to see your posts in future, 'cause they'll be rare little treats to be squealed over in delight!
You're amazing! I'll look forward to hearing from you again soon (or pretty soon is fine)!
My 9 year old says that when he gets married, he and his wife will live with me. Aren't kids the best?
Sarah, I can SO relate to this, as a blogger myself.
But - quality not quantity. Your posts ARE quality. I'll never forget that one you wrote about attitudes to raw - the one with the 'shield bug' etc - golddust!
Your blog's on my blogminder and I'd far rather see just one article from you a month than feel this was putting you under the slightest strain. I only blog two or three times a month, and I find THAT a lot!
The blogs I tend to take off my blogminder service are those that are frequently updated, but seem pretty much to be diaries/'what I ate today'. There are other blogs that I haven't heard from for months, but no way am I taking them off because the articles are so good I'd hate to miss the next one (whenever that one may be!).
So, we'll still be here, and eagerly look forward to the next post, whether that's next week, month, or year (well, hopefully before that!).
You have invested such a lot of wise words and energy into your awesome blog, I think you deserve some time off. The net, and blogging can be very draining and sapping.
Feel no guilt my dear, you've done a lot of good here : ) Enjoy yourself xx
I understand!
Your blog is great...thank you!
I can come to your house and help fold that laundry...!
~Ellen
I can't even keep up with reading everything, much less personal conversations!
Sarah,
Your writings are such a wealth of info for a newbie like me, I happily reread them often, for a-ha!s and inspiration. ;-) It sounds like your life is feeling like an abundance of riches: what a wonderful place to be! Take care and I'll look forward to any and all posts forthcoming!
Kim
Sandy, :D you're funny! Good to hear from ya.
Sarah - yeah, school is one of the big things on my plate this fall too! You probably understand my life more than almost any other 811-er I know of!
Mila - thanks for the kind words! I didn't know you ran a fashion site, how cool is that?!! :-)
Christina - thank you for understanding. :) I was beginning to feel like my life revolved too much around the computer.
Rick - thank you for the support! It's always fun talking with you.
Justin, thanks for the great compliment! It means a lot! Looking forward to hearing more from you on the writing front as well.
Sam - that was hysterical...I'll take a couple of those free laptops, please. :-) I'll be catching up with you and Heidi on your blogs!
Connie - I knew you'd understand! :D Thank you.
Christopher - yeah I was thinking along the lines of your suggestion - I've never worked well on a schedule and I like the idea of adjusting my writing and posting rates as the seasons dictate. :-)
Joanne - yes, that sounds like me exactly! :-) Thanks for the encouragement!
Catherine, very nice to "meet" you! Thank you for delurking and saying hi! Hope to "talk" to you more in the future.
Andrew, you know I am! :D I want to make the most of the rest of summer before fall gets here all too soon.
Autumn - yes, garden nature girl, I figured you'd get it. :)
Terry - I'm not sayin' goodbye, I'm just slowin' down. :D Thank you for the kind words!
Stephanie, I'll still be around! Just not 24/7. :D Your comment was encouraging! Thank you.
Nenette - ditto to yours ;) I enjoy yours a lot too!
Oasis - yep, life first! Exactly! :D Thank you.
Vered, wow, thank you so much for the stumble!!! Now more strangers can see my dirty laundry! Ha! :) Yeah I like your 3x a week, I think you have it spaced out quite brilliantly. For me I'm also starting to think 2 good thorough posts/week are about all I can sanely handle. I knew you of all people would get it!
Nell, you're too kind! :-) I've enjoyed talking a bit with you since you delurked awhile back. Thank you for doing that!
Josha, I'm subscribed to your blog, so I'm still stalking you and Ruthie. Always. :D As for kids - I REALLY wouldn't mind if we had enough land that any of my kids wanted to settle down somewhere on our land! It would be nice to think I might have great relationships with my future inlaw kids. I hope!
Debbie, wow, thank you for such a nice compliment. I don't feel deserving, but I appreciate it so much, really. I used to blog 2-3 x a month and I do think I could manage up to double that a month and live a normal life. :D Thanks for understanding!
Azura - thank you! I feel no guilt here really...mostly a lowered stress level :D I'll continue to catch up with you on your blog!
Ellen - I'd be mortified to have you come help me with laundry! Haha! But I appreciate the thought. And lets get together again soon. I've been thinking of going to the DFM to see what they have nowadays.
Michele - yes, I was starting to get very overwhelmed! Then I sat down and thought to myself, Hello! This is self inflicted. Why am I not doing something about it? :D
Kim - my life ain't perfect, but I sure appreciate many, many things about it! :-) Thanks for the kind words!
totally understand. see you when you have time. enjoy your life.
much respect Martin
Thanks so much, Martin!
hi sarah, i'm a lurker too :) found your blog via jolene's blog and have been following it for quite a while. just wanna say thanks for the all the writings as they have been very inspirational and thought provoking. dun think i'll make the crossover to 811 anytime soon but sure am inspired to be healthier in many ways.
Li Ping, it is very nice to "meet" you! Thanks so much for delurking and saying hi!
yep, sarah. Eco-fashion designer. have my first show in Tokyo this October -- a dream coming true.
www.mccollandclan.com
would love your feedback! or anyone else's for that matter. ^____^
:Lurker steps off lurking platform:
hey Sarah. Well, you said delurk so I did lol. Hahaha actually, I made the decision to reduce internet time about a month or 2 ago, and your blog had to go (sorry, 1 hour a day is my limit for internet). A couple days ago a friend recommended your article "8 Reasons Not to Go Raw Vegan", which prompted a joyful reunion with your bananas. I mean blog.
Anyways, have you ever considered sending your articles in to "Living Nutrition", or actually now called "Vibrance"? They would probably publish them, as your articles are hilarious. And informative.
Anyways, get back to life!
Taylor
Hmm, yeah life does have a way of saying hey now wait a minute here! I'm feeling left out! None of us are more than a click away and of course we'll be anxiously awaiting your next fantastic post. Enjoy your laundry!! :D
I'll be glad to read your posts whenever you get the chance to write; yours is the only blog I'm suscribed to, by the way! So get on out there and enjoy life, and grab hold of all those precious moments. If I just "see" you once a week - or month - that's fine with me, as I know you'll be sharing something of great value; all of your blogging is! One day soon I will e-mail you... ;)
Nae.
Mila, LOVE that tweed coat. LOVE it.
Thanks for sharing the link!
Taylor, nice to hear from ya. 1 hr internet time a day sounds fabulous! Thanks for the encouragement to send something in to Vibrance.... I actually have thought about it before but I'm probably too irreverent and goofy for them. :-) Maybe I'll give it a try soon!
Heidi thank you! And I'm only a click from yours too...thank goodness! :-)
Nae, looking forward to your email, and what an honor that you're subscribed to my blog! Thank you.
thanks for the compliment sarah. ^_____^
I'm selfishly very sad, but I totally understand. I'm having trouble keeping up with my blog anymore, but I still love reading everyone else's.
I'll be here anxiously awaiting your updates.
XO

Hi Sara with an "h",
Life sometimes gets in the way of blogging, but when we weigh them out, life usually wins.
I agree, it's the conversations that make blogging so much fun, but if you don't have time to enjoy them, a lot is lost.
I support you in your decision to reduce your posting schedule. I'm subscribed so I won't miss a thing.
Enjoy!
You're telling me!! I read so many blogs per day that I'm also unable to keep up. I've been posting two times per week for some time now. Even with this frequency, it's still more than I can handle.
It's a good idea to cut back from 4-5 times a week. We don't want you to be falling sick!! I've got young kids myself, so I totally understand.
Dear Sarah. . .
Please yourself. Everyone will benefit.
: )
Love you,
Fruity Jules
good cow .. 41 rotten tomatoes!
no wonder you cant keep up!
wow..
hope your laundry is happy :)
way to go for you to putting whats important first :)
you rock!
and now. i present
Sarah,
I can truly relate to where you are coming from. Your personal life comes first.
We are all for whatever you! I look forward to hearing from you in the future.
Thanks for your advice. I will continue to used your blog as a raw vegan reference. :-D Best wishes to you.
With love,
Peter Love
hey girlfriend, we're starting to notice....
I totally get the overwhelm of life, but I love reading your posts. I look forward to seeing them in my Reader. Get back to it when you can!
Okay... now we're really starting to miss you!
Amen, Sarah! And perfect timing, I must say, as I've just come to the same conclusion (again!) with all the online projects I've got going!! In between loads of laundry (my pile is knee-deep, too!) we're swapping ideas on family fitness with parents who follow 811 principles over on the iLiF Network. Doug and Rozi are considering the concept of a family-friendly event as an alternative to H&F Week for those of us with tots in tow, and we're looking for creative ways to engage the whole crew in the adventure!
I linked Michele's terrific article on "Natural Exercise" in the -Links & Resources- section of our Naturally F1T Family group at the iLearn in Freedom Network and plan to sneak in some time to explore this concept in more depth. It would be great to have your input! Have you heard Rozi's "Nurturing Peace" CD on Attachment Parenting? It's right in line with Michele's discovery on following our instincts onto the nature trail. HAPPY LAUNDRY DAY!! :D
Hi Sarah,
I have read your blog a few times, and I find it so warm and honest, really lovely in fact!
You bring a real vulnerability, a very feminine voice to a medium which is often more about facts and impersonal information.
Because you are a mum probably means you have less spare time than me and I couldn't imagine having the commitment to write a blog, although I am planning to eventually. Well done for creating what you have so far, and I will be checking in now and then.
Much Love
Sophie
Oh no. I just found you again!
Are you still corporeal?
We miss you. :(
Hi Sarah! Delurking after several months to say how much I've gotten from your blog. So much inspiration! I'm on Day 5 of 811 and feeling very strong on it as of this moment, and going back to baking soda and apple cider vinegar shampooing (Day 1 is today). Just wanted to thank you for the truly awesome writing, ideas, sharing, etc. (I'm a 36yo mom, 5'2" at 108lbs, recently relocated back to Houston after several years on the West Coast. Hubby is also a programmer). Thank you for your blog! And Merry Christmas:)
miss you! hope all is well in Dallas!!
xoxo
I am so glad I found your blog. I picked up 811 about a year ago and before even reading it took it back to the library. Well here it is another year gone by without losing the weight, having upper resiratory problems, feeling lousy and being diagnosed with low immunity. So I started thinking about 811 and while doing research came across your blog. I have been learning so much by reading through things little by little. BTW compared to my stretch marks from 4 huge babies yours look downright adorable. Anyway - I am just starting my 811 journey and I will be reading your blog to keep me inspired. I just wanted to say thanks.
-Liesl Schick, Hartland MI
